Effective immediately, the mask mandate for students, staff and SLPSS facility visitors has been lifted. Masks are still required while traveling on SLPSS buses.

All students, whether they are receiving an award or not, may dress in their Sunday's Best for our Award's Program Friday. *No shorts, distressed jeans, muscle shirts, etc.

OPELOUSAS, LA -- Due to forecasted precipitation causing possible hazardous road conditions and widespread flooding parish-wide, all schools and head start centers will dismiss early today, May 18, 2021. The overall safety of our students and employees necessitates the early dismissal of schools.
Dismissal times are as follows:
SLATS/Alternative - 1:30 PM;
MACA/BioMed - 1:40 PM;
High School/Junior High - 2:00 PM;
Head Start - 2:00 PM;
North Central/Palmetto - 2:00 PM;
Elementary/Middle Schools - 2:20 PM - 2:40 PM (This is dependent on bus arrival from first routes.);
*Car riders should contact the school for pick-up times.
We will continue to consult with school administrators, the National Weather Service, and the Office of Emergency Preparedness in the decision-making progress regarding the closing of schools.

Grand Prairie Elementary is celebrating LEAP all month long! Pre-K, 1st grade, and 2nd grade classes each took a turn visiting the LEAP testers to wish them GOOD LUCK! They also made and hung signs outside in the hallway for them.
